GROWING HERBS PROGRESS

In October I bought a herbs seed package from online nursery.

I got 14 varieties of herbs.
There were basil genovese, taragon, dill, sage, oregano, celery, parsley, coriander, mint, and many more.

Mint

Most of the seeds germinated successfully.
Then they are growing so healthy.
Half of them have already moved into individual pots or seedling pots.
We still have bountiful seedlings that needs to be transplanted soon.
Looking at them, make me so happy...

Sage...
I don't know how many times I've sowed the seeds.
Second time sprouted...
And this is the first time they sprouting well and also grow as real plants.

Dill...

Second time growing them, but first time I have a row of dill plants.

I can't wait to pick some of them for the dishes.

CELERY SEEDLINGS FOR FREE

Last month I did't know what kind of seedlings on the pot of my 'Ceremai' pepper. 

A bountiful seedling that I couldn't identify.

We have windy days on the past two months, so it might unknown seedlings from flown seeds that grounded on this pot.

Now, I have already knew, they are celery seedlings.

I remember that this pot was side by side with a pot of flowering celery on my terrace garden, before I moved it on to my back yard.

I guessed the seeds have fallen down on to the pepper pot, germinated and then grow as seedling.

They are growing so healthy, so lush.
I have to prepare lots of pots to grow this seedlings.
I think I will transplant them into plastic cups first as individual pot, before I move it into permanent pot or raised bed.

Growing celery from seed needs a very long time, I must be so patient.
But I get lots of celery seedling for free, right now.
How lovely....

GUTTER PLANTER FOR LETTUCE

As an amateur gardener, I try to do the best that I can.

A lot of lessons that I have to learn about.

I don't plot specific budget to accommodate my hobby.

So, I have to save money on gardening.

Using old stuff, reusing, recycling are good way  to save money.

I often see planter boxes on internet, they look so interesting and beautiful.

I want to use it on growing vegetables and ornamental, but the it so expensive for me.

So, I have to think about make my own 'planter box'.

After our house reconstruction. we had some excess materials.

We had a PVC gutter, so I had an idea to make planter boxes from it.

I cut the gutter into a medium length, 50 cm and 1 m.

I made holes on the bottom of the gutter, and set the cover on the each end.

Now... I have some planter boxes.

They are great for growing short rooted vegetables, such as lettuce, caisin, pakcoy, celery, garlic chive, amaranth, and many more.

I really love to grow lettuce in this planter box, looks so neat and tidy.

I want to add more planter boxes, but I have to prepare time and money for it.
