GIFT OF THE WEEK : LITTLE TREE OF CEMPAKA GONDOK

Maybe you still remember with my old post about gift of the week.
I got a sacred flower from my friend about two years ago.
Yes, Cempaka gondok or Cempaka Telur is a sacred flower on Javanese tradition.
You can see the flower on my old post here.
Several days ago, he gave me a little plant of Cempaka gondok as a gift for my baby born moment.

This is a rare plant, of course I'm so happy.
It's not sold on nurseries.
Thank you for the present friend...
You add more collection into my little garden.
I hope this little plant will grow so happy on the new place, my home garden...

A SUNNY DAY WITH THE WHITE DOVES

More than two weeks I have taken a rest on blogging.
My baby is so sweet.
She is still lot of sleep, so I can do my daily home activities and also do gardening activities.
During the recovery period, I only do simple gardening activities, such as watering, pruning, weeding and also harvesting.
The rainy season has gone, the dry season has came.

The extreme difference between night and day's temperature, stimulate the white Dove orchid to bloom.

Look my orchids...

Looks like little doves flying on my front yard.

Although just a one day blooming orchid, but the beauty and the fragrance are so fascinating.

WEEKLY HARVEST : MAY 2015

Just a few things that I can pick from my little garden this week.
My garden looks so bare now, cause I have already done 'land clearing' for the new planting season.
I think this month is the beginning of the dry season.
We have been having dry days without rain for about last five days.
It should be a great time to gardening, cause no damp garden and also no snail.

Although I have to work harder to watering my garden.
But dry season usually much better than rainy season.
Hoping all be better...

BLOOMING WEED

This edible weed grow so healthy on my raised beds and pots.

We call it Lengko
Some of them are blooming.

The simple flower is so beautiful.

The feathery seeds ready to flow and spread.

They are ready for the new life...
New season...

Enjoying the simple beauty...

CABBAGE UPDATE

After two tiring days I did weeding on my terrace garden, finally I find a fairly clear garden.
Lots of empty pots that ready for the planting season.
Just small amount of vegetables that still on productive period here.
The interesting one is the row of cabbage.
I think this vegetable doesn't grow optimally, cause too much shade here.
They look free from bugs.
I hope the 'head' will be formed soon.

PURPLE IMPATIENS

Actually, it's just a simple flower from the road side.
I took some seeds of this impatiens from the road side several months ago.
It's an easy growing plant.

Here, we call it 'Kembang Pacar'.
Kembang Pacar (Impatiens balsamina) is mostly grow wildly on the roadside, especially on the humid or damp area.

I took it to add more shade of color on my garden, but now they are growing like crazy on my terrace garden.
The old ripen fruit will be broken and the seeds will be thrown away, and then grounded, next the favorable place and weather will stimulate self seedling.

Now, my terrace garden full of purple color from this impatiens.

Beautiful, but I should pull out some of them, because they are taking over some pot plants and growing wildly like as weed.

IS IT DOWN TO THE EARTH?

Such a very hard work to tidy up my terrace garden.
Looks like a mini jungle.
All part full of weeds, so messy.
All needs to be tidied up soon.

Nothing special with my vertical rack on my terrace garden.
But when I was noticing this part, I found a special things.
Look... there are three wild ferns that grow on the bottom side of the chrysanthemum pot.
Yes, they are growing on the drainage holes.
Growing down side.

I don't know how they grow.
Actually, I have been so long didn't do anything on my terrace garden.
This part is a part shady area.
And of course this rainy season is so favorable for the wild ferns to grow.

I will let the fern grow, I want to know how cute they are on the next time.

BEAUTIFUL BROWN FROM MY FRONT YARD

If we have a lot of flowers, we will have a lot of butterflies too.
Flying here and there on my garden...
Perching on the flowers...
I think  the butterflies prefer to annual flowers than flowers from perennial.
I guess the annual flowers more attractive...
Look... they enjoy the sunny morning on my annual.
Just beautiful...

THE SURVIVOR FROM THE PHALANEOPSIS CORNER

This is my Phalaneopsis corner today.
It's situated on the eastern back yard, next to my bedroom.
I put some Phalaneopsis on the wall.

The very wet weather makes my collection looks so poor.
Some leaves get rotten and decayed.

There was a flower stalk that full of flower buds have broken during the windy down pour.
But I'm so lucky that the new stalk grow up soon.
And now, I can find the orchid is blooming.

I'm so glad, that this orchid survive during the terrible weather.

A real beautiful survivor...
