POOR CANNA...

I was so surprise when I found a bunch of peach flowers on the raised bed yesterday.
Actually, for several times I didn't check intensively my back yard, caused by the bad weather and limited time.

Down pour makes some beauties have broken...

Look my peach Canna...
It looked so beautiful before the rain, but after the rain...
The slim stalk doesn't strong enough to support the flower.

Oh... my poor Canna...

Should I support it with my fingers?

  1. Rainfall has a good and bad side doesn't it?

  2. What a lovely variety though! It did spring up in that spot by itself or did you plant it there? I have two yellow ones with small flowers that I have been growing from seed since last summer. They have been blooming inside for a while now but it is high time that they move back outside because they are starting to be infested with spider mites.

    1. Yes, this canna did spring up by itself. I guess, there's a part of rhizome that have remained on the soil. And the favorable condition makes the rhizome spring up.

  3. Lovely canna, I suggest just stake it and hope it will recover :-)
I am growing canna for the first time this year, two big pots with deep red cannas, they are inside still as the nights are too cold here but soon they can come out.

  4. I really don't like it when it rains when the flowers are about to open. My rose turned brown faster than normal due to the morning rain we had yesterday. Anyway, this really a lovely canna and what a surprise to have it growing out of the soil suddenly like this :-)
