SRIKAYA : LOVELY FRUITS

Our Srikaya tree (Annona squamosa) looks so awesome.

The little fruit looks like a green strawberry.

I find the bigger one...

And this one is the biggest, hidden by the wide leaves.

I should wrap them soon, before the bugs attacking.
I have no idea how big the optimum size of this fruit.

It's so lovely...
I will take care this little tree, and I hope they all will be safe.

  1. Those fruit flies are such a pest aren't they? I am happy that we don't have that problem.

    1. Yes, they are. You are so lucky, Sue. Fruit flies always be a serious problem during the rainy season.

  2. Hi Endah, never heard about this tree and his fruits. Nature has so many beautiful things to offer! What do the berries taste like?

    1. Yes, that's right, Christina.
The taste of this fruit is sweet, creamy, milky and aromatic.

    2. Hi, you may see it listed as a sugar apple if sold commercially or at a farmer's market. They're fairly large and not considered part of the berry family. Also you'll know the fruit is ready because it starts to yellow and 'swell'. Or you may take it off the tree and allow it to ripen inside away from wildlife where it may freely open a bit indicating that it is ready to eat. Makes a great ice. My favorite, as is the calamondin or calamansi lime.
