MY OWN WATER HYACINTH

These are our water Hyacinth or Enceng Gondok.

Several weeks ago I got some water Hyacinth plants from our neighbor.

We can check here.

Than we put it on our drums.

Actually we've been raising cat fishes in that drums.

The fishes looks so happy with these plants.

Hide and take a rest there, among the roots and tubby stalks.

As an invasive weed, we take control the growth on this tiny 'ponds'.

We still enjoy their beautiful flowers, but don't worry about their invasive spread.

Love this beautiful flowers...

  1. Dearest Endah,
Talking about cat fish, we recall so well the market at Wonosobo where we saw many life catfish kept in water.
Very clever for using it inside this drum and you created an exotic looking pond.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Thank you, Matiette. Actually, yesterday we visited our father and crossed over the street in front of your house in Wonosobo. Such a shame I couldn't take a picture, we were in hurry that afternoon. There's nothing different time by time. The gate was closed and fence was so closed too. next time, I will try to take any pictures for you.

  2. Water hyacinths are beautiful. Have they grown so big?
I bred them at home in the aquarium but they were tiny.
    Greetings.

    1. Thank you. Oh, it might they have bigger space and also more nutrition from residue of the fish food.
