HARVESTING CASSAVA LEAVES

This week, we were lucky, we got some fresh green vegetable.
It's came from our own cassava plant (Manihot utilisima).
The one and only cassava plant remain.

The leaves looks so fresh and tender.
Then we picked all the leaves, and keep the main branch to produce new tender shoots.

And the last... we boiled the leafy greens and served with ground chili sauce (sambal) and deep fried catfish.

A simple dish for lunch.
Thanks GOD

  1. Dearest Endah,
You make me mouth water... We ate those cassava leaves so often!
It was one of the wonderful experiences eating lunch in Kalianget with the Dieng Djaya staff. So many local dishes you got to taste that way. No tourist ever will get that experience.
    Some great cooks...
Happy for you for being able to harvest some from your own garden.
Remembering the cassava plants in the fields, always liked them very much.
    Hugs,
    Mariette
