TEA TIME : PART 2

Almost everybody talk about the health benefits that come from drinking tea. 
Many of us have the general idea that tea is good for us but don’t really know what it specifically does.
It is also good to know that different types of tea have different effects on the body.
We can get the benefit of tea, not only by drinking the tea, but also by using so many products that made from tea.

 

Here are some important benefits of tea:
An anti-cancer plant
If we drink a lot of tea we are less likely to get cancer.
Drink about four cups of tea a day will up to 60% less likely to get cancer.  
Polyphenols in tea have been known to help protect cells from the normal aging process, prevent blood clotting, lower cholesterol levels, neutralize enzymes that aid in the growth of tumors, deactivate cancer promoters, and stimulate the immune system.
A high quality anti-oxidant

The abundant antioxidants help fight off free radicals which are responsible for wrinkles and ageing.
So, the tea especially green tea extract is usually used as a main ingredient on beauty product. 

 

The tea leaves contain polyphenols, which gives tea its antioxidant properties.


Green Tea and white are supposed to be even more effective and there is some scientific evidence to support this fact. 
White and green tea are also very effective for having radiant, problem free skin.
Now, we can find skin care products that made from natural ingredients especially green tea.
The natural ingredients will more safe for our skin.

Skin moisturizer
As a high quality anti-oxidant, tea especially green tea is usually used in so many cosmetics and body treatment products.
The anti-oxidant ingredient gives more protection, not just a beauty.

Boosts our brain
Tea helps us concentrate and focus. 
Black tea is also known as a memory enhancer.
This effect is said to be due to the amino acid L-theanine which gets absorbed in our gut and travels in the blood to our brain. 
Red or black tea's drinkers have better memory.
It is a calming drink that wakes us up without over stimulating.

Fight off illness
Tea is supposed to be a very strong immune booster. 
Those people who drink tea on a regular basis are supposed to be more immune to the cold or flu that is going around at work as well a some other minor health problems such as infections.

Tea beats stress

A cup of tea helps us fight the physical signs of stress by reducing the stress hormone in our body.
The aroma of green tea is used as an aromatherapy for relaxing.
So there are so many perfumery products with the green tea aroma.

 

Help us lose weight
Tea boosts our metabolism and helps us lose weight. 
Drinking a few cups of green tea (without the sugar) can have a really good effect on losing our weight.
So many slimming tea products use green tea as a main ingredient, although the slimming tea use other herbal ingredients as a 'slimmer' agent. 
We can also rub some gel or cream that made from green tea to treat cellulite and excess of fat on our body.


An extract of white tea prevents new fat cells.
The herbal brew increases metabolism and boosts slimming by having a very high concentration of antioxidants compared to the more popular green variety.

I'm sure, there are more various products that made from tea.

  1. I didn't know that tea was so good for you but of course that is properly brewed fresh tea. So much of the tea in our country is processed and bottled with sweetener and preservative chemicals just like most of our food. I don't drink that stuff, it tasted nothing like tea.

    1. Yeah some of ready to drink (RTD) tea use sweetener and preservatives. But now we can find packed or RTD tea without chemical preservatives. I love fresh brewed tea, the taste is much better.

  7. Salam, unfortunately I'm a coffee addict who also drinks teh tarik - the coffee without sugar and the tea with sugar & milk. I don't know whether there are any health benefits there... :D
