GARDENING ON THE BALCONY : APRIL 2014

This is the view of my balcony this morning...

Right now I'm having various veggies on balcony.
There is a pot of cabbage remain.

There are Kailan 'Nova', lettuce 'Lollo rosa', lettuce 'Belini', lettuce 'Red Rapid', celery and green mustard (as a volunteer).

This is my 'Lollo rosa'...

'Red rapid' lettuce as a volunteer on kailan pot, but its growth is so stunning.

Lettuce and kailan...criss-cross...

Curled-leaved kailan...

Green mustard as a volunteer on lettuce pot.

Celery, a day after transplanting...

I hope next month they will much better.

  3. That cabbage looks amazing & grown in a small pot too. I have sown some mini cabbage seeds so I will root out some pots to give them a go like yours..

    1. I have thought that I was failed on this cabbage batch, cause from about thirty seeds that I have sowed, only three seed that germinated and only one that could grow well. It was my old seed, maybe it had expired already. I hope you cabbage will grow well.

  7. Wow..your cabbage look so lovely. I'm so admired and wish if mine could being it like that. I've try it last time but the result was always failed. The cabbage more looks like kailan. Don't know why.

    1. Maybe your cabbages variety is not suitable to hot tropics climate. I plant some varieties that adaptable in hot tropics area. Some variety need cool weather to form the 'head'. I have an experience like yours, no 'head' cause I planted highland variety.

  8. Cabbage is really great. I never get them to grow so big and healthy. They always end up chewed by bugs.
