KACANG UCI : FIRST TRIAL

This is for the first time I grow Kacang Uci or rice bean (Vigna umbellata).

This is the new plant for me.
I have never grown this plant before.

A rare plant, an old fashion plant.
I got the seed from online nursery last year.

Wikipedia said that both of the young tender pods and leaves are edible.
But this plant is mostly grown for its seeds.

A unique pods...

I really want to know when is the best time to harvest the fresh pods.
And also I have no idea how to cook them.

About five months we have waited the vine producing fresh pods.
Very long time, we only saw very lush leaves, but no flower even more pods.
But now, we can find lots of beautiful yellow flowers and little slim pods.

Beautiful flowers...

So lovely...
Thanks GOD...

PAKCOY : A SPOT IN OUR SOUTHERN BALCONY

Our southern balcony is a bit green right now.

A container that full of greens is spoiling my eyes.

Ten of pakcoy and four celery.
I have forgotten when I planted them.
They might be transplanted in February.

This space is a part shady area.
Great sun shine in the morning.

The veggies look so fresh.
I like it...

Thanks GOD...

PELARGONIUM : ENJOY THE BEAUTY

Our Pelargonium is blooming for the second time.
I'm so glad, that I can notice the progress, although it's not completely.
I found the closed flower buds, part opened buds and fully opened...
Enjoy the beauty...

INSPIRING WALL GARDENING DESIGN

On Thursday, me and my co-workers visited The Center of Eco-region Development  Control for consultation session.
The place was eco-friendly.

So many vines were climbing on the canopy in parking area.
Green environment...

The entrance was impressing me.
Four columns were not 'empty'.

Rows of pots 'encircle' the columns.

Four gutter rack on the edge of the entrance.
So interesting...

Near the gate, we can find a unique composting unit.
The compost bin was camouflaged.
I like the idea...

COSMOS : FINALLY WE'RE FINDING THE ORANGE AGAIN...

Cosmos is a simple flower that grown in our tiny garden.
We're growing two species of Cosmos.
The first is edible Cosmos (Cosmos caudatus).
And the second is Cosmos sulphureus.
The second one is grown for its beautiful flower.
We have ever grown both of the orange and yellow flowered varieties, single and also double petal.
I sowed the seeds several months ago.
They germinated successfully, but the growth is so slow.
It might caused by the limited sun shine here in our backyard.
Now, after I tidied up this space from some vines, the space looks brighter than before.

So, we can find the flower buds from these cosmos plants.

Just enjoy the simple beauty.
Although the plants are not so healthy.
The leaves a bit curly, and the petal too.
It may the soil is not healthy enough.
Hoping they grow better.
