RADISH : FLOWERING AGAIN

Bolting... again...
Yes, I think I have to learn more and more about growing lobak or daikon (white long radish).
After I found two pots of daikon that get bolting.
Now, I'm finding another bolting plant again.
But the flower look so cute.
The purple color is so beautiful.
I'm not sure it has the same variety to my first bolting plants or not, cause the flower is a bit different.

By the way, I still have two pots of daikon that grow so well, and there's no sign of bolting.
I hope I can get the fresh tubby roots soon.

FLOWERING RADISH

This season, I'm doing trial on several varieties of vegetables.
Lobak or white long radish is on my plant list.
We also call it as Daikon (Lobak Jepang).
They grew so well at the first, but bolting have been coming so early, before the tubby root established and become bigger.
But no problem, as the first trial I get something interesting, a new lesson.
At least I can see and know how beautiful the radish flower is.
So... I find beautiful flowers on my terrace garden as a treat.
How  does about the roots..... I will think about that again on the next planting.

Now... I'm enjoying the beautiful flowers that I have never seen before...
Enjoy your weekend and happy gardening...

I bought the seeds from online store.

Last week I made a post about my radish.
I got so many advices, I was so happy.
So, now... my first harvest.
Although my radishes are not good enough, but no problem.

Thanks to all of my friends for the advices and sharing the experiences.
I hope on the next planting I will get better result.

RADISH : FIRST LESSON

This is my first experience in growing radish.
I grow it in two pots on my terrace garden.
The plants are protected from direct sun exposure.
Googling to find so many information  about radish  is a must.
As a plant that native from sub tropics area, if I plant it on tropic area, especially on the low-middle land area, the result sometime so far from our expectancy.
And I have to be aware about that.
I sow it on January 22.

Three days later the seeds were germinating.
I took the picture above on January 24.
The growth looks so fast.
In some literature, the we can harvest this plant three or four weeks after sowing.
This is the current performance (February 14).

After three weeks from sowing, I find the red tuber still on small size, about the diameter is about 1-1.5 cm.

When I notice the tubers, the tubers look cracked.
I don't know why.

During this windy and dry weather I keep the watering twice a day.
I use compost and rice husk.
Can you give me some advice?
Please share me your experience.
