TRANSPLANTING TIME

Our seedlings were growing jostling.

They need to be transplanted into bigger pot soon.

There are green pakcoy, red pakcoy, chinesse cabbage, celery, and two varieties of mint.

Here they are...

SEEDLING TIME

This is our seedling patch in our roof garden. 

Last  week  we sowed some vegetables seeds, and also moved the baby plant into individual seedling pots.

There are various sawi (a kind of chinesse cabbage)

Hoping they all will grow well and productive.

SEEDLING TIME

Last year, we only have a little varieties of vegetable in our tiny garden.
It caused by we only had limited time for gardening and also we couldn't manage time well.
So I hope, I can manage time better this year.
I started sow seeds on the end of January.
Mostly leafy vegetables, green is our favorite...
There are some varieties of tomato, pepper, eggplant, chinesse  cabbage, pakcoy, mustard green, kale, basil and many more.
I put the seedling on the southern balcony. 
This place a part of shady area, and still get morning sunshine for healthy growth.
It's the safe place  for seedling area, free from our kitties.
They really love playing and jumping on the pots then broke the tiny plants.
Such a shame some times I forget to keep watering the seedling.
Some seedlings finally get drought and died.
I have already move the seedling into individual pots or other containers.
Keep trying, keep sowing, keep growing...

GROWING THE GIFT

Three weeks ago we visited our families.

Such a nice moment.

A mini gathering with our big family.

As usual my eyes always look for something 'green' and something new to be planted in our tiny garden.

I went home with four cuttings of Malabar spinach (Basela alba) from my cousin.

And from my aunt, I took a paprika seedling and three red hot peppers for seed.

Now, the only one cutting of Malabar spinach is surviving.

The three others have rotten.

The paprika seedling have transplanted into pot and I'm finding some flower buds there.

What a shame, some kind of aphids are invested here, under the leaves.

And now, I have lost the hot peppers.

I forgot where I put them.

Actually, I should sow the seeds as soon as we can, but now all disappear.

Hoping I can find the peppers soon.

OPTIMIZING THE WASHING AREA

This was our washing area in the backyard in the late of January. 

Sorry... so dirty and a bit mess.

We only had limited time to do gardening chores.

Two red cherry tomato plants on each corner.

One of them is growing so high touching the roof.

We can see the pepper plants as a background.

Tomato seedlings on the cooking oil pouches.

White pakchoy and strawberries in white pots were so lush.

Some of empty pots there.

I should make a new plan to do something here.  

Make it tidy and productive...

RED CABBAGE : SECOND BATCH

When we have lovely thing and makes us so happy, so we usually want to have it again.

Now we're having beautiful red cabbage patch, so we have prepared new red cabbage patch.

Last week, we sowed the red cabbage seeds.

We sowed on the seedling tray.

The seeds have sprouted and the little seedlings have ready to be moved into individual seedling pots.

I'm so lucky that I have a bucket of fine compost as media. 

So, now we are having thirty pots of red cabbage seedling.

Hoping they will grow so healthy like as the first batch.

ASPARAGUS : FIRST SEEDLING

This was a very nice surprise...
I found a asparagus seedling!
Actually I have hopeless every time I sowed asparagus seeds.
I don't know how many time I've sown the seeds and how many time I've failed.
My hopeless is treated...
It's an interesting experience for me.
I really want to grow asparagus in my home garden.
I've been looking for nurseries that sell asparagus crown, but I haven't found yet.
I think grow asparagus from crown is much easier than grow it from seed.
Last month I found an online nursery that sale asparagus seedlings.
Then I purchased five seedling, but again... purchasing plants online has too much risks.
I'm sure that the seedlings were on good quality when they're packed.
My seedling package came too late, it should need up to three days on shipping, but it needed seven days.
But long period on shipping made the seedling that I got were so poor.
I shared one of my seedling with my friend.
From four seedlings that I grow, there are two survivors.
I hope they all will grow well.

Sorry the weeds are bothering the view, I should do weeding soon.
A fact of a lazy gardener....

RED BASIL SEEDLING IN PROGRESS

My seedling trays still full of seedlings.

But they haven't ready to be transplanted yet.

Something that I'm really interested about is my red basil seedlings.

Actually I have already sown red basil seeds for about five times.

This is the last time, and I'm success...

Look...

From ten seeds that I have sown, almost of them have germinated.

There are five seedlings that grow so healthy.

Some of 'baby' seedling have popped up from the soil.

They didn't germinate on the same time, although I sowed them on the same time. 

They make me so happy.

Then I moved them into individual pots.

I hope they will grow optimally on the new place.

MY WESTERN BACKYARD THIS WEEK

Here they are my western backyard this week.
This is my washing area...
I put two seedling trays here, I think this is a suitable place, cause the humidity and the sunshine is good enough. 
There's a pot of rosemary, and also a celery pot.

On the edge of the washing area, I put some pots of hot chilies, just two days after they were transplanted.

This is the raised bed that full of plants.
Sweet corn, green pea, yum bean, sword bean, caisin and amaranth.

I have harvested the first red bean patch.

I cleared the patch soon and planted tomatoes here.

The tomato patch is starting the fruiting season.
This is yellow cherry tomato.
A papaya tree that grown for greens.

The new green bean patch, and the background is the old patch.

The additional raised bed is on new look.
There are broccoli, green eggplant, green peas, some rare beans.

And the end of the raised bed, I put a pot of star fruit tree.
The pare vine is growing so well on the wall.

I put some pots of fruit tree above the well.

This is the northern side of the backyard.
The last red bean patch is ready to be harvest.
Green chayote on the corner is growing so slowly.

The compost bin is doing so slowly... too dry...
It's not a productive space. 

Thinking hard to make this part more productive.
Too much shade, and too much fallen leaves and flowers.
