THE NEW OKRA PATCH

Our old okra patch was finished.
I found some self seedling okras on the raised bed jostling with the weed.
Then I pulled out the seedlings and transplanted into new raised bed.

Free seedlings of okra for the 'empty' bed.

This was the seedling three days after  transplanted.

These pictures above were taken in April.
Hoping they will grow well and productive.

HOPEFULLY PUMPKIN PATCH

Love to see our pumpkin patch.

Actually it's a self grown pumpkin that's growing happily on the pathway among the gravel.
We can see the pumpkin patch here.

Lots of flowers there, but mostly are male flowers.

Whatever... they are so beautiful!

Some visitors really enjoy the flowers...

When we notice the plant, some female buds are popping up from the stem segments.

It looks so promising!

Some of the female flower buds failed in blooming then withered and fallen.

Whatever it happened, I'm sure we will get some healthy pumpkin next.
I hope...

ENJOYING THE BLIGO PATCH

Our backyard is really messy right now.

Look... the trellis next to the kitchen is full of Bligo leaves (Benincasa hispida).
Mostly old leaves, yellowish and withered.

But... we can find some fruits are hanging or laying on this trellis.

I still have no idea when is the best time to harvest them.

The weight of the fruit is about 1-2 kilograms.

The flower is so beautiful...

Love to enjoy this patch.

DENDROBIUM : A PROMISING SIGN

This was our western wall of our backyard last week.

I like the various shape of any leaves here.

As you all know that we have a neglected orchid on the wall of our backyard.
But this orchid looks so productive, showing us its beautiful flower twice or three times each year.
Although we don't give any treatment to this plant.

When I was noticing the pseudobulbs, we found a sign of spike or shoot?
But I think it will grow to be a spike of orchid.
And we will see beautiful flowers next.
I hope...

ASPARAGUS : THE PROGRESS

This is the new place of our asparagus, above the compost bin.
We can check the old condition here.

The only one survivor.
I have cut all the spiny leaves when this plant arrived in the new place.

It seem the plant is happy here.
Ten days after it was moved we found new spear emerged from the soil.

And also a fresh shoots emerged from the old stem.

The new leaves closer...

And four days later the spear was longer like this.

Hoping it will grow better and better...

BLIGO : WELCOME TO THE KITCHEN

As a lazy gardener, sometimes I let our home garden looks what it is.
The plants grow naturally looks like as wild.
But sometime that's annoying.

Look... the vine of Bligo or Kundur (Benincasa hispida) is sneaking into the kitchen through the small gaps under the roof.

Dangling...

Fresh new shoot...

New shoot is peeking!

Male flower buds...

Female flower a day after bloomed.

Little female flower bud.

A visitor...

They have been sneaking since three weeks ago, but I have had no time to cut them or tidy up.
Just enjoy the long shoot in the kitchen...

FRUITY FRIDAY : FIG FOR BREAKFAST

Rush hour...

Lots of daily activities that I should do in every morning.
This morning I had no time for breakfast.
Only take a meal for lunch.

When I was passing next to the fig tree, I found a ripe fruit there.
Then I picked it, and brought it into the office.

So, I enjoy the fresh sweet figs just when I arrived.

A simple breakfast...

SAWO : MOVING

Such an embarrassing post to share about our messy garden.
I'm a real lazy gardener.
The north side of our backyard looks so messy.

The sun is not in the north side anymore.
The sun have moved into the middle of the equator.
Some of our fruit trees have had limited sun shine for their growth.
One of our fruity tree in the pot is Sawo (Manilkara zapota).

The shoots look so fresh, but no sign of flower neither fruit.
Southern area should be warmer and brighter.
Next to the garden door.

Then I moved it into southern area, that get more sun shine.

Hoping this little tree grow better here, then produce healthy fruits.

OUR GATE THIS MORNING

Such a lovely thing if we have a sunny morning, with lots of flowers around us.

Look... our gate is cheered up by the Garlic Vine or Stefanot blooms.

The blue Kembang Telang or Butterfly pea flowers (Clitoria ternatea) make this part more beautiful...
I like it !

A natural mood booster...
