THE PROGRESS OF THE DRYING AREA

This is a view of the edge of our drying area this week.

We have harvested some edible weed from this patch.

We have moved the strawberry pots into terrace garden to get more sunshine.
And we put the garlic chives or Kucai here.

This patch is on part shady area.
Chives is more tolerant to the shady place than strawberry.
You can see the patch last month here.

The mustard green have grown bigger.

Some of them have get flowered.
We have to work hardly to move the plants here and there to get the sunshine.

GIFT OF THE WEEK : PASSION FRUITS AND JAPANESE MUSTARD

This week I got special gifts, passion fruits and Japanese mustard plants.
Maybe passion fruit is not special for me.
But something that makes these fruits so special is "I get my fruits back!".
I think you know what I mean.
My friend grows these passion fruit plants from ripen fruits that I've given her last year.
And now, when my passion fruit vines haven't fruiting yet, she shared me her fruits.
She knows that my son is really love passion fruit juice.
So, I can make passion fruit juice for my son.

Another day, she gave me some Japanese mustard seedlings.
A new vegetable for me, I've ever seen this vegetable on the Agricultural Exhibition last week.

Thank you friend for sharing me your seedlings and also "making my fruits back".

Readers, have you ever have same experience like mine... please share.

ADDITIONAL RAISED BED UPDATE

This is a lovely patch to be explored.
We can see this patch on the early season here.
All plant grow so quickly here.
We can notice the progress during a week.

The picture above was the condition a week ago, and the picture below is the current condition.

They look grow so healthy, although the grasshoppers really enjoy make holes on so many leaves.
I guess the leaves are so tasty for them, of course for me too.

This was the green mustard patch a week ago, and the picture below is the patch today.

The green mustards, amaranths and kangkung are growing like crazy.

The amaranth and kangkung patch was a fairly empty, but now looks fairly dense.
The amaranth is ready to be harvested.

The bitter gourd vines are starting climb here and there.
So lovely...

I think I should do thinning on the amaranth patch, so they will grow much better.

I have picked some green mustard once.

The existing green mustard is on flowering stage right now.

The yellow flowers are so beautiful.
Lovely patch...

TERRACE GARDEN UPDATE : JUNE 2015

Ahh... I couldn't remember when the latest time I made a posting about progress of my terrace garden.
It must be so long...
Here they are the appearance right now...

The eastern side is looked so bare.
There are only green mustard, Thai basil, and kale.
The vertical rack is still stand on with some empty pots on it.
Oh ya... there's a pot of Tapak Dara or periwinkle that cheering this part.
During this dry season, the flowers bloom here and there.

On the western side, the gutters are full of veggies.

Only a gutter that looked 'empty', but actually there are lot of Chinese cabbage seedling on it.
The gutter below is full of green mustard and colorful amaranths that grow itself by self-seedling.

The green amaranths are ready to be harvesting.
They are so fresh and healthy, free from bugs.

There are three variety that grow so healthy like as weed.

On  the southern side, there are lot of empty pots ready for new growing season that full of weed.
The cabbages grow so healthy.
Lot of green amaranth here.

The worst part is northern side.
Weed is covering every pot there.
Look... the tomatoes are collapsed, they need support and I should move them into a brighter place that has more sunshine.

The only one survivor from the eggplant patch.
I have to compete with the weed to survive.
But I'm so happy that there's a first flower is hanging on the end of the stem.

I have to do weeding soon, before the veggies become worse and worse.
Readers, Are your garden doing well right now?
