We met lots of persons from so many places that mostly as 'seed users' or seed distributors.
The place that we were visited was so far, about  450 kilometers from our town.
A long and tiring mini trip, we about fourteen hours to reach that place.

First, we picked up by car to the airport in Yogyakarta by car at 12.00 AM on Wednesday 20.

Then, we had to wait for several times caused by the boarding was delayed.

Second, finally the boarding was at 19.40 PM, the flight from Yogyakarta to Surabaya was about one hours and 15 minutes.

Third, we picked up by car from the airport to the railway station by car, about one hour.
We had to catch the train to the next railway station at Sidoarjo in hurry, caused by our flight was delayed. Really rushed...

Fourth, about ten minutes after we arrived the railway station, the train was arrived, we got in soon.

We went by train for about three hours and forty minutes until the destination railway station in Jember.

OBSERVING SPRINGS : PART 6

FINDING THE SPRING

There were four spring that we observed.
But actually only one spring that I visited, cause that place are so terrible, unsafe.
The wood has a very dangerous cliff to be crossed.
My friend walked down hill carefully to find the spring.
They didn't let me crossing the dangerous place.
The pathway was so narrow and steep.
Then I walked uphill and waiting for them on the roadside.
I was so glad that the third spring that we observed was fairly safe to be observed.
And I can see the spring closely and exploring happily.
Here they are the pictures...

First, we found an Acacia mangium wood.

This is the pathway crossing the teak wood.

The spring wall...

So fragile...

A little stream from the spring...

Banana and bamboo along the stream side.

Finally we found the spring.

Crystal clear water spring...

An interesting adventure.

OBSERVING SPRINGS : PART 5

WALKING IN THE WOOD

We walked crossing the wood find potential spring.
So various trees grow naturally here.
These were the pictures from the way to the first spring.

Walked down hill carefully on the sloping area among the Bambu Petung (giant bamboo).

Fining so many variety of palm here.
This one was a little Palem Waregu (Rhapis humilis), it reminded me into my parent house.
My father grows this palm beautifully.

Coffee and Caladium as the lower stratum.

This place was cool and has fairly high humidity.

These were some picture on the way to the second spring.
The weather was dryer and hotter than the first place that we visited.

We found different variety of vegetation here, such as Cassava, Gliricidae, Clove (Eugenia ) and many more.

An old clove tree, I think it more than twenty years old.
So interesting...

OBSERVING SPRINGS : PART 3

Another interesting vegetation that I found on  the cliff was 'Pakis Cakar Ayam' or Chicken leg fern (Selaginella sp).

This fern is usually found on the humid cliff.
These ferns were still so small.

I have ever grown this fern, it grew so healthy.
But it neglected during the dry season, then died.

I took some to be grown on our tiny garden.

And I hope it will grow so well.

OBSERVING SPRINGS : PART 1

Last week I followed my friend who observed springs on our district, in order to maintain availability of water for human life.
The existing springs should be maintained and preserved, so they can provide water for the human being and other life in our lovely nature.
The poor springs must be refurbished, to make them produce sustainable water, more and more.
Let's follow us on the mini adventure... observing the springs...

They are the 'spring team'... preparing the observation.
Our trip our adventure...
