KARA ON THE WALL

This is on of several varieties of bean that we grow this season.

'Kara' is an perennial bean.

We let the vine climb on the wall, caused by it grow intensively and need strong support.

I took a two seeds of this bean on July last year, but planted it a month later.

It seem too much leaves on the vine, it might caused by too much shade here on our eastern backyard.

But finally this plant produce fresh beans.

Lots of  beans are covered by leaves.

The young beans are so crispy.

Thanks GOD.

PEELING THE 'KARA BENGUK' SHELL...

Several days ago, when I was tidying up our kitchen, I found a  little pail of dried kara benguk.
I think it comes from last year harvest.

The bean still in the tough shell.

A neglected harvest.

Then I peeled the shell, and got a big bowl of seeds.

KARA BENGUK : THE WHITE VERSION IS BLOOMING

A lush vine is climbing on the slimming guava tree on our eastern backyard.

I forget when I show the seed.
It's kind of Kara Benguk or velvet bean (Mucuna prurirens), white version.

I think you have familiar with the black version that I have posted before.
You can see the black version with the deep purple flower here.

I have never know that this vine is a white flowered version.

It's a surprise.

Love to see the flowers...

We found lots of bean are hanging on the vine.

They are growing bigger and longer...
You can see the little bean here.

The hairy skin like as green-black velvet...

So interesting...
But I have no idea when the best time to harvest these beans...
Time to learn new lesson...
