THE RED OKRA THIS WEEK

This is our tiny patch of our red okra.

There are four plants on the raised bed.

These plants are came from self seedlings that grow on the bed freely.

We have picked some fruits for several times.
The okra then chopped and we made herbal drink from these chopped okras.

The flower is also so beautiful...

  1. I've never tasted okra. I understand that it is a love or hate vegetable/fruit.

    1. Actually, we grow it mostly for medicinal purposes, not for providing vegetable. We don't like the clear mucus from the fruit.

    1. Yes, Malar. It might come from neglected okra plant that produce fruits until the pods ripe and dry, then broken and the seeds fall down onto the grown.

  6. I have some okra planted, but I'm not sure it's going to make it. The Japanese beetles have been relentless.

    1. Yes, Lisa. This season I found a weird caterpillar ate our okra plant, both of the leaf and fruit. That's so annoying.
