TERRACE GARDEN UPDATE FEBRUARY 2014

This is the current condition of my terrace garden.
This month we have an extreme weather; dry, hot, windy, stormy, rain, and wet changes so fast.

Today
I also had volcanic ash falls after the volcano eruption.
It make my terrace garden looks so poor.
After the ash fell we had downpour a long the week.
And it refreshed my garden.

West rack

Bayam belang (Amaranthus tricolor) on the west rack: two weeks ago

Lettuce and green mustard on the west rack : two weeks ago

Now...

Red lettuce, bayam belang, garlic chives and green onion : Today

Middle row : green mustard, chilli pepper, and packcoy (two weeks ago)


Middle row : today...

East side

Zucchini, edamame, green mustard and lettuce on the north rack

Cauliflower row on the north rack

A little curd

Additional row on the west side of drying area

South rack : green mustards, spinach, kailan, broccoli, lettuces and garlic chives

  1. Are your cauliflowers in small pots? Everything has really come on over a couple of weeks, it looks fantastic!

    1. Yes, I use small pots for my veggies, except for tomatoes, eggplants and zucchini, I use medium pots (25 cm).

  3. It is amazing how much you do with pots. Many people here have land around their houses and plant no garden because it is too much trouble and yet plant grass and mow that every week.

  4. Looks great. No volcanic ash here, although sometimes I toss the ashes from the woodstove into the garden.

    1. Sometime I spread ashes from my stove into my garden too. It's really help me to control snail and cut worms.

  6. We have our wonderful climate for our own plants growth. Sometimes I'll really jealous if I see so many beautiful plants that I can't grow here. In my hot humid climate, everything grow so fast.
