A MOMENT BEFORE PRUNNING

Yesterday, we cut down the papaya tree on the backyard.

Actually, the main shoot have already cut down several months ago.

The side shoots have grown on the top of the tree.

There was 'Kara' bean climbing intensively on this tree.

So lush...
Lots of beans on the top of the tree.

So high, I think it more than 5 meter in height.

But this patch under the tree became shaded and only limited sunshine could penetrate the leaves, so the crop on the raised bed couldn't grow well.
Finally we have to make a chance....
Cut it down...

Prune the bean vine...

And got a bunch of beans.

  1. Dearest Endah,
Yes, you were forced to do some heavy pruning in order to give some 'life' back to your papaya tree. If it gets suffocated by the beans constantly it would die in the end as light is one big essential thing.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  2. It’s always a hard decision to cut down an established plant
