MY RED LANTERNS

Will you say my Hibiscus such as red lantern?
This is Kembang Sepatu Gantung (Hibiscus schizopetalus), an old fashion plant and usually grown as hedge with intensive prunning.
But in my garden I let the branches grow here and there.
Just beautiful...
The long slim branches grow and so many flowers bear on each end everyday.
Although just a simple plant, but so lovely.

ROUND LEAVED KAILAN

I think brassica is one of my favorite vegetables to be planted on my garden.
They look so easy to be grown both on ground or containers.
Although so many bugs and disease that always intimidate these plants.

The last species of Brassica that I grow is Round Leaved Kailan.
I grew these plants in a plastic pouches at the first, but when my raised bed have 'empty', I moved these plant on to he bed soon.
I think they need time to grow well on the new place.

Last week I picked the old leaves and cooked them.
The taste is really good.

As a green, it looks so lovely, cause it has long productive period.
I just pick the older leaves repeatedly, but I don't know how long these plants will produce well.
Will they be an annual or biennial... I don't know...
Lets wait and see...

RADISH : FLOWERING AGAIN

Bolting... again...
Yes, I think I have to learn more and more about growing lobak or daikon (white long radish).
After I found two pots of daikon that get bolting.
Now, I'm finding another bolting plant again.
But the flower look so cute.
The purple color is so beautiful.
I'm not sure it has the same variety to my first bolting plants or not, cause the flower is a bit different.

By the way, I still have two pots of daikon that grow so well, and there's no sign of bolting.
I hope I can get the fresh tubby roots soon.

LEMON : BREATH AGAIN

As an amateur gardener, trial and error is a must.
Yes, from so many trials that I have done, I have gotten both of success and failed.
For the case, I have no expectation to my lemon tree.

Last year, this tree looked so poor this plant dried suddenly when its branches are full of fruits.
I found something like as jelly on the stem, I guessed that it  some kind of bacteria on their colonies.
I cut it down, but on the last rainy season the stem grew new shoots.

The shoots grow so well, and now I'm finding a white flower on the end of the branch.
Ahaa... looks so promising...
I hope the other branches will show me their flowers too.
I can wait to see the yellow lemons hanging on the tree.

BEAUTIFUL THINGS THIS MORNING

What are special things that I find on my porch this morning?
Look... my Adenium is showing me its beautiful flowers.
This dry season is a good time for blooming.
Not just beautiful flowers, I also find another interesting creature on this plant.
I hope it's a friendly creature...

BUNTIL DAUN PARE - ROLLED BITTER GOURD LEAVES WITH ANCHOVY AND GRATED COCONUT

My little jungle in  my back yard was disappear.
The vines have unloaded after the green caterpillars attacked sporadically.
I have been missing so many greens from those vines
And also this meal... Buntil daun pare (rolled bitter gourd leaves with anchovy and grated coconut).
I did the same way such as on cooking Buntil Daun Labu.
The taste was almost similar, but such as the name, the leaves were slightly bitter and tender.
Hmmm... delicious...
