These are our edible colocasia (Colocasia gigantea).
Here, we call it as 'Lumbu kubis' or talas.
Kubis means cabbage, caused by the texture almost similar to cabbage leaves.
The leaves are edible, and the tuber doesn't developed intensively as common colocasia.
They grow so well here in our warm humid garden.
Even more I grow them in a part shady area.
Growing quickly especially during the rainy season.
We really love to stir fry the leaves, delicious dish...
Yummy...
We harvest the leaves frequently, once in 2-3 weeks.
Thanks GOD...
This plant is edible? I have seen them while young! How to cook them?
ReplyDeleteThat's right, Malar. I use to cut it into small pieces and then cook it, stir fried or cook as gravy soup.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa. I'm so fine. Have a wonderful day, too.
DeleteIn the USA we call Colocasia gigantea 'Elephant Ear.' They are used as ornamental plants. During our cold winters, we store the tubers indoors. I had no idea the plant is edible!! P. x
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about the variety name, but here this plant mostly grow wildly in the home garden
