Maybe you still remember with my older post about my neighbors garden.
An extra-ordinary garden...

KEEP WHITE WITH MY LANTANA

White...white...white...

This is my creeping or trailing variety of Lantana.
Trailing lantana (Lantana montevidensis) is one of my favorite flowery plants.

Here, it's well known as bunga tahi ayam, tembelekan or puyengan.
Puyeng is Javanese terms means dizzy, cause the crushed leaves have bad smell.

I have three varieties of trailing Lantana; white, yellow and purple.
But the purple one was destroyed by fire ants.

This season they are creeping so fast.

Look they are closing my path way.

WEEKLY HARVEST - DECEMBER 2

This week I still found a few thing from my garden except my passion fruits, kembang telang, green amaranth and pare.

From my front garden, I still got globular green eggplants, triwis, purple eggplants, kembang telang, lemons and passion fruits.

From my beds in my back yard, there were green amaranths, leunca, tomatoes, hot peppers, celery, triwis, and pare.

From my terrace garden, I got my green chives, green onions, red amaranths, also last red lettuces, sweet basil and last caisin.

From my balcony, there I got acid oranges and dewandaru.

MY SON AND JOHN DEERE

Here, we have a Koperasi Petani Tebu Rakyat (Cane Farmers Cooperations).
A week ago, that cooperation got a grant from Government.
A big tractor...

That grant is so precious.
This grant aims to improve productivity of their cane farmlands.
The improvement of cane production will maintain the sugar supplies.
Self sufficiency in sugar commodity is one of the goals of government in agriculture.

Actually, most of farmlands in Banjarnegara have hilly, narrow and steep contour.
It's not easy for a big tractor to move on that farmland.
Big tractors usually used in so many big plantations here, that have wide and flat lands.
Farmers usually use hand tractors that have high mobility.
I think mini tractor or hand tractor will more useful for our farmlands.
I hope next, every grant will more appropriate and useful.

One interesting thing..., my son really excited with this tractor.
He has never seen this real big tractor before.
Currently, this tractor is parked on the parking area in front of my office.

I don't know how many time he whined to me asking to buy a tractor for our family.
He pulled out all of the coins from his box piggy bank.
He gave all the coins to me, and asked me to add some money to buy new tractor.

He really wants it.
In his mind, a tractor has same function with a car
Me and my husband just smile, and give so many explanation to him.

We haven't farmland.
Our home yard is really-really mini.
Where will you park your tractor, boy???

A SAD AND BUSY SUNDAY.

Yesterday was a real busy Sunday.
In the morning, we have to bury our kitten 'HP'.
We lost her since four days ago.
I saw her for the last time four days ago, she looked so poor.
Yesterday morning, we found her in the bucket on my back yard.
But she was dead.
We were so sad.
She so funny, cute and lovely.
We will always miss her.

After that I had pruning my flowery hedges on the front yard.
During this rainy season they grow so fast, even wildly.
A dense flowery bush...

Then, I had training and trimming my vines.

I also wrapped my pare fruits with plastic bags to keep them safe from the fruit flies.

Look .... my compost bin became overloaded.

I couldn't work outside at the afternoon, cause I had downpour a long the afternoon.
Finally, I closed the day by making two bottles of sweetened passion fruits concentrate juice.

POOR KENANGA

I noticed my kenanga look so poor day by day...
The leaves eventually running out.
I only found the shoots and the flowers.
Look... so poor...

I couldn't find the leaves on the trunks anymore.

Finally, I found the destroyer...
Again... a green big worm!
It was similar with the worms that destroyed my Nusaindah several weeks ago.

Another day, I found a similar worm again.
Really a big worm.
They were hand-thumb size.

WAITING FOR MY QUEEN

Several nights ago I'm waiting for my 'Queen of the Night' (Ephypilum sp) blossom.
I have three pots of little variety 'Queen of the Nights'.
In Indonesia it's also called Wijaya Kusuma.

Time by time...
It's really a great experience to meet this flowers blossom.
They only blossom in the night.
I have two varieties of Ephypilum, there are big and little variety.
These are my little variety.
This variety blossom longer, and more often blooming.
The little variety usually blossom from 09.00 PM till 04.00 AM.

The big one only blossom on the peak of the midnight.
And they only blossom during one hour.
The big variety is rare flowering, only twice or three time a year.
Also only a little amount of flowers on a plant.
So ... someone who can see this big queen of the night will get a lucky.
Really lucky person...
Only a patient person will get this luck.
