This is my creeping or trailing variety of Lantana.
Trailing lantana (Lantana montevidensis) is one of my favorite flowery plants.
Here, it's well known as bunga tahi ayam, tembelekan or puyengan.
Puyeng is Javanese terms means dizzy, cause the crushed leaves have bad smell.
I have three varieties of trailing Lantana; white, yellow and purple.
But the purple one was destroyed by fire ants.
This season they are creeping so fast.
Look they are closing my path way.
Trimming time...
I feel like I have seen leaves like that somewhere but not the flowers. Could be we have something that resembles it, I would remember the nice flowers if we had those in the summer.
ReplyDeleteLantana is natives from tropics America. There are verbena, which have similar flowers and performance. Verbena love cooler climate. They are members of a same family Verbenaceae. Maybe, yours is Verbena
DeleteI've not come across the white variety - the one I am familar with is yellow and reddish
ReplyDeleteHere, there are so many various colors of Lantana. We can find Lantana bushes on the roadsides or near the woods. They grow wildly.
DeleteThese are really pretty!
