I'M NOT STRONG ENOUGH...

My pare vines grow enormously.
The leaves look so dense.
They were climbing on the bamboo fence.
But... actually the fence is not strong enough.

 

Overloaded... too much leaves and shoots.
Look.. the bamboo stick were broken.

 

I didn't have access to my other beds.
The vines closed the pathway.

 

For the 'first aid', I hold it with plastic straps, cause I had not  a lot  of time to work outside.

 

 

Then another day, I fixed the fence and added new support.
I also did trimming the leaves and shoots to reduce the load.
'Slim' bush...



But, another day downpour made my garden getting worse.
Although the bush were getting 'slim', but the rain really stronger.
The bush eventually collapsed.

  3. You might need to find some old steel pipe to use as end posts to help the bamboo. Lots of weight when it gets wet.

    1. Yeah, I must prepare steel trellis for the next planting. I didn't think that this vine will grow so lush

  4. I'm sure your Plan B for next time will be better! When I first started growing Runner Beans I under-estimated the weight of their foliage, and had problems similar to yours (I had to tie the bean-poles to a tree and to a hook set into the wall of my house!), but I have a better system now.

    1. Yes, I have to learn more from this season. A lot of experiences on growing vines in rainy season. I have make a new plan for my vines for the next season.
