This is a new comer of bean in our garden.
Kara pedang merah or red sword bean (Canavalia gladiata).
It grew so slowly at the first, so poor.
But after I added more compost, it grows so lush.
I surprised when the pinkish flower and long flat bean were emerging.
This is the climbing variety.
So interesting...
The pinkish flower is so beautiful!
As long as I know, the young tender pod is great to be stir fried and cooked as soup.
Not all of the flower changes into fresh pod.
I don't know why....
I'm starting to get some beans in my garden as well. Very exciting.
ReplyDeleteSounds so interesting!
DeleteOh that flower is so beautiful! It reminds me of the Hyacinth Bean vine. How is the flavor of the bean? Stir-fry sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame I have never tasted the bean. I think I should try it soon.
