KAILAN 'NOVA'

This is one of my experiment this season, growing kailan 'Nova'.
I bought the seeds online.
I have never grown this vegetables before.
I have no idea about the growing's practice.
So I grew the same way like as my other Brassica.
Just sowed on the seedling tray, then transplanted on to bigger container.

Actually I don't know when is the best time to harvesting them.
So six weeks after transplanting, I picked some for our dinner.
The taste is good, and the texture is fairy crispy.

I'm sure that my kailan is far from a perfect result.

It could be better then my harvest this season.
As far, there were no serious bugs that infested this plant.
Only aphids that come and make a little problem.
I didn't find caterpillar or mealy bugs on it.

Now, I should learn how to grow this vegetable.
And also, how to cook this vegetable too...

  2. Looks kind of like some type of collard. I have boiled similar greens and then fry them with pepper, garlic, ginger, soy sauce and a touch of vinegar.

    1. Yes, I think so. I have ever seen picture of collard, it almost similar to my kailan. Maybe it just different name for a one type of vegetable, although it may in different variety.

    1. Terima kasih. Dibuat cah kailan atau cah kailan cumi lada hitam. Sedapnya...
Mungkin sekitar 3-4 minggu setelah pindah tanam panennya.
      Terima kasih sudah mampir.

    1. Yes, they are. My brassica's seedlings are also eaten by the snails. That's really annoying
