I bought it on the expo about three weeks ago.
I put them near the sink on my kitchen.
You can see the mushroom when they came in to my 'kitchen garden' at the first time here.
I harvested the first mushroom a week after I bought it, but the yield was not good enough.
The growth of this mushroom is much slower than my oyster mushroom.
They are ready to be harvested soon.
I think they will be a great dish.
Can't wait for it...
They look very velvety,
ReplyDeleteYes, that's right. The texture is velvety.
DeleteWow, I have eaten a lot of different mushrooms, but I don’t think I have ever had black mushrooms. Are they as velvety as they look? I tried growing mushrooms too, some years ago, but it didn’t go too well, I think my house is too dry, only got 3 small mushrooms! I also had a mushroom log outside, but got absolutely nothing so haven’t tried again. Yours look lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteThe texture is velvety and a bit crunchy. Yes, they need humid room to keep them grow healthy.
DeleteThose look very unusual. I wonder what they taste like.
ReplyDeleteThe taste is so delicious!
DeleteThese mushrooms look like velvet, wonderful! I hope they taste as good as they show their beauty.
ReplyDeleteOf course they are. So great for soup.
DeletePierwszy raz widzę takie grzyby. Mają niezwykły kolor. Jestem bardzo ciekawa jak smakują. Serdecznie pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteYes, unusual color, but so tasty. i hope you can taste it someday.
DeleteThis is something new for me. They are real big. How do you prepare them?
ReplyDeleteI wish you mery Xmas
Marie
I use to make a soup from this mushroom, the taste is so great.
DeleteHave a wonderful week, Marie!
Wow I have never seen mushrooms like that before. How do they taste?
ReplyDeleteThe real taste is plain, but when we cook it, the taste will be so delicious and crunchy.
DeleteGreat fungi similar to mine oyster :)
ReplyDeleteI think so...
DeleteHi Endah,
ReplyDeleteI'd love to taste them as well.
Happy new Year!
Thanks Nadezda. You should taste them.
DeleteHappy new year!
Dearest Endah,
ReplyDeleteThese JEW´S EAR - AURICULARIA AURICULA-JUDAE are nice exotic mushrooms!
Great for being able to grow them yourself.
Hugs,
Mariette
Actually, we can find this kind of mushroom grow naturally on the old wood log. Sometimes I find this wild mushroom in my tiny garden during the rainy season. Thnks, Mariette.
DeleteYou sure are lucky! 😉
