This eggplant is so cute.
So little and so slim too, like a finger.
When we eat the fresh raw eggplant, especially the young one, the taste is so sweet, so tasty.
The immature fruit is great for traditional Javanese gravy soup 'Lodeh'
Hmmm... delicious...
It's so tasty for stir fried too, with chopped garlic and chili.
For tempura... so delicious!
The flower is so beautiful too!
A lovely plant...
Will you plant it too?
I've never seen eggplants so small. It's cute!
ReplyDeleteHere, there are lots of variety of eggplants that grown for comercial purpose. So various color and shape.
DeleteI've never eaten raw aubergine/eggplant. I guess when the plant was given the name eggplant in some parts of the world they never anticipated fruits shaped like fingers.
ReplyDeleteHahaha... yes you're alright. We have to anticipate all possibility.
DeleteI love eggplant, but we think my husband has an allergy to it. Our freezer is packed full with eggplant I froze from our garden ( slim Italian eggplant and Black Beauty). Guess I will be eating these on my own. Yours look delicious! Linda@Wetcreek Blog
ReplyDeleteYes, eggplant is an interesting vegetable. High in vitamin and lots of benefits. Our homegrown vegetables must be more tasty and healthy.
DeleteGosh, I never thought of eating aubergines raw ! I will try that this summer. Tempura sounds fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou have to try it.
DeleteAs others have written, I would never have thought it would be good to eat raw eggplant. I would have expected them to be bitter. I am not a big fan of eggplant, but I do quite like the long thin purple ones. We still refer to them as brinjals!
ReplyDeleteThe young eggplant is so sweet and tasty. You have to try it and get lot of benefit from this vegetable.
DeleteWill this be purple eggplant?
ReplyDeleteAnd it's interesting that it can be eaten raw.
Greetings.
No, the ripen eggplant will turn yellow. This is green version.
DeleteHi Endah,
ReplyDeleteI have no luck with eggplants! My plant would usually have lots of flowers, but no fruits! I love eating eggplants and will try to grow it again.
Hi Joyce,
DeleteLots of bugs attacked my eggplants. I always protect them, to keep them safe from the bug attack.
