GROWING RED CABBAGE : FIRST EXPERIENCE

Trying something new on the garden is really challenging.

And I really love it.

This is my first experience on growing red cabbage 'Ruby Perfection'.

I have a lot of hopes.

As long as we all know that red cabbage is only grown on tropical upland with the cool weather through the year.

On my warm garden,I sowed only five seeds and they have germinated successfully. 

Then I transplanted the seedlings into bigger pots, but only two plants that survive.

The two survivor looks grow so healthy.

These are the cabbages on the middle of November, on the end of dry season.

When the rainy season was coming, my garden have attacked by so many bugs.
Caterpillar was the main bug that attacked and made a serious problem on this brassica, especially this cabbage.
And I have loosen one of my red cabbage caused by the caterpillar attack.
Now, only one cabbage remains.

 

There are so many holes on the little 'head' that have formed.
I hope I can find the 'big head' next.
No bugs anymore...
I wish...
And I think I should try to grow it once more time...
