We got a plenty of veggies this week...
Yeah... two varieties of purple eggplants and chillies.
They're from my aunt.
We call this variety 'terong pentil', a deep purple skin and slim eggplants.
This is my favorite...
Stir fry eggplant with red chilli peppers... ehmm... so yummy...
Or the young one is sweet and tasty to be eaten raw with 'sambal' (crude hot chilli sauce).
And this one is Nando, a purple skin and rather tubby eggplant.
For stir fry and 'sayur lodeh' (traditional gravy soup).
For tempura and other traditional dishes...
So delicious...
Thank you Aunt for the gift...
What a wonderful gift! Your Aunt must have a great garden. :o) It's hard to resist a beautiful purple vegetable.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Just a small piece of land, but very productive. As a traditional farmer, my Aunt is a highly skilled person.
DeleteI have not had those, they sure look good, they were a nice gift.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can try to grow it on your garden in the summer.
DeleteIn the UK we call these aubergines. You have a fine harvest there - we grow ours in a greenhouse. As well as giving fruit they are very attractive aren't they?
