So... collect seeds from my own garden.
Of course it's much cheaper...
As an amateur gardener, it's really interesting.
Collect and save...
Garlic chives |
Kembang telang (butterfly pea) |
Red lettuce |
Green lettuce |
Cabe keriting (red curled chilli pepper) |
Passion fruit |
Red amaranth |
I think it is important to save seeds as they are from plants that are proven to grow at your location. In our country, the seeds may have been grown in a totally different climate than our hot and humid one.
ReplyDeleteI only collect and save seed from tropical plants, especially local plants. Almost imported plants have never formed fertile seeds. So I save 'cheap seeds' and buy 'expensive seeds'!
DeleteMust admit that when I gather seeds I usually forget to sow them.
ReplyDeleteYeah, sometimes I did the same thing like you!
DeleteI have saved a few of the easier ones in the past but never lettuce! Well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joanne! Some lettuces, especially headed type, are so difficult to get flowering and produce seeds. Actually on my hot climate, lettuce will get flowering stage earlier.
DeleteI must try this year... I'm just beginning a vegetable garden! You inspired me.
ReplyDeleteThank you Magali! Happy gardenig! And grow your own foods!
DeleteThat's a lot of seeds for next planting season! I never have luck with spinach....
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you can do that! Get lucky!
DeleteYa, cara begini memang menjimatkan. Saya pun turut melakukan perkara yang sama.
ReplyDeleteBetul Kak Mala, menghemat biaya, dan benih terjamin kesegarannya (not expired seeds)
DeleteSalam Endah,
ReplyDeleteI ada tanam bawang merah dan bawang putih tapi tak pernah survive. Macam mana ya caranya?
Salam Honey.
DeleteMenanam famili bawang memang susah, tak suka lembab dan hujan, tanahpun mesti gembur. Saya pun sering mengalami hal yang sama.
