FEEL BLUE - PART 4

We have known lot of about the benefit of kembang telang.
Lets we make a simple processed of kembang telang for the supplies in my kitchen.

We will make blue tea...
A very simple process...

First, wash the flowers in running water.
Then drain and put the clean flowers into strainer.
I use bamboo strainer.

Let the flowers air dried for about a week.

Then, we keep the dried flowers in the clean jar.
So the dry flowers are already to be a blue tea.

To make a cup of blue tea, we need 7-10 dry flowers.
Put the dry flowers into the cup.

Then pour the boiling water on it.
Wait about 5 minutes, the blue tea is ready to serve.

We can add sugar or honey in it.
The plain blue tea is tasteless.

Please enjoy the freshness and benefits your blue tea...

Keep on my 'feel blue' spirit...
Next we will make our family favorite drink from kembang telang.
Enjoy the 'blue'...

  1. I had missed some parts of your "Blue" posts as I was too busy for blogging but now I have read them all, very interesting. Kembang telang is a wondrous plant with so many medicanal benefits and the colour of the flowers are of the most beautiful blue. You made great pictures, your son looks so cute with his blue tongue. Now I know the Latin name Clitoria I know the plant in our country as a tropical houseplant too. But it is only rarely for sale and these glasshouse grown plants look poor in comparison to yours.

    1. As a tropical plants, kembang telang loves warm and fairy humid weather. Maybe this plant can grow in sub tropics area, but its growth not optimum. It's the same case if I plant sub tropical plants, the yield will not good enough.

  2. I didn't see any insect damage, maybe they don't bother it, that would be nice.

  3. I do find lots of fruit teas tasteless too but do you find some people are put off by the blue colour as scientists did an experiment that showed people have an aversion to blue food?

  4. I wish I could grow this plant in my garden. That blue is such a beautiful colour. In spite of the research Sue Garrett cites, I would like to drink it. When I was a child, I often had blue milk shakes, even though they didn't taste of anything in particular.
