FEEL BLUE - PART 7

This is the last part of my 'blue' series.
I close this series with a complete dishes that made from kembang telang.
There are three kinds of dishes: blue tea, ketan biru and crispy kembang telang.
You have known about two dishes before, for the last one is my new experiment.



To make 'crispy kembang telang' we need:
  • 30 pcs fresh  kembang telang flowers
  • 1 pc egg
  • 4 tablespoons wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
  • Cooking oil


Beat the egg, then add water, wheat flour, salt and pepper.
Whisk all of the ingredients until we get a smooth batter.


Dip the flowers into the batter.
Then fry it in the medium heat oil.
Fry it until the battered flowers are turning to golden brown.


Lift and drain it.
The crispy kembang telang are ready to be served.



All the dishes have been served.

  1. Haha, at first glance I thought there were shrimps on the plate, but these are the crispy tembang telang. I think this was a great series of blue food and flowers, I will miss the blues but I am sure you will make a next beautiful series.

  2. It's a good job that you have a ready supply of flowers. This recipe is similar to how you can use courgette flowers.
